About the Club

The Southland Mountain Bike Club members are active in all mountain biking disciplines, trail building and social riding. As a Club we organise club rides and events around Southland. There are excellent tracks at Sandy Point, Bluff, Gore and Te Anau.

  • Ladies Ride - Every Wednesday 6pm at the Sandy Point Carpark
  • Club Monthly Meeting 7.30pm at Kelvin Hotel Board room. 2nd Tuesday each month.
  • Bluff Dig Nights- Wednesdays 5:30pm

Trail Update: Sandy Point & Bluff MTB Trails

Bluff Trails are all open.

The Sandy Point Domain mountain bike trails are now partially open. Signs and tape are in place indicating trail closures. The map Click Here indicates the closed areas as well as the temporary parking areas for riders. The main carpark and toilet are closed.

It's really important that riders take note of trail direction signage. Most of the open tracks are one way only. If you see a it means no entry/wrong way.

Remaining trees may still present new hazards and risks. If you see anything concerning on an open trail, please report it to parks.recreation@icc.govt.nz or (03) 211 1777.

 

Sandy Point Working Bees.

Tuesdays 5:30pm Meet south of the Carpark by entrance to Swoop. We'll be cutting back vegitation and tidying the trails.

Wednesday Dig Nights Bluff Hill MTB Trails 

These are on every Wednesday to tidy and improve the Bluff trails. So grab your gloves and come lend a hand. Meet: Bottom car park, Bluff Hill Time: 5:30 pm
